The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale School of Medicine seeks an outstanding Glaucoma-trained Ophthalmologist to serve as a member of our faculty. The candidate must be eligible for appointment as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. They will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of patient care, in a collaborative academic environment. The department has a long-standing tradition of excellence in clinical care and research in multiple subspecialty areas of ophthalmology. Our faculty provides clinical services for patients at Yale Medicine Ophthalmology and the West Haven Veterans Affairs Hospital. We have a strong and competitive residency program, which consists of 15 residents, along with two fellowship programs, including retina and glaucoma.

The Department is affiliated with the Yale New Haven Health System, a growing healthcare system including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. We have outpatient offices in New Haven, Guilford, Norwalk, Madison, Waterford, Greenwich, and Stratford. The Department is expanding into Fairfield County, New London County, and beyond. Our department is growing, with plans to double its clinical and academic footprint over five years, adding multiple new clinical and research faculty members to coincide with this geographic expansion.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate who is interested in building a solid career in academic medicine in a superb setting for clinical practice, education, and research. The ideal candidate will be devoted to clinical excellence and have a firm commitment to the education of residents and medical students. Candidates should have an MD degree and be board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Connecticut.
