Match Season Is Here. Are You Ready?
The Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology are jointly hosting a 90-minute webinar, Advice for the 2026-2027 Ophthalmology Residency Match Season, on Wednesday, June 3, 5:00 PM PT / 6:00 PM MT / 7:00 PM CT / 8:00 PM ET. Please help spread the word to medical students as well as faculty who mentor medical students at your institution.
The panelists are dedicated educators who represent the AUPO, AAO, and the SF Match and will share viewpoints on applying for this year’s ophthalmology residency match. The latest changes to the match process will be outlined. The perspectives of Medical School Deans, Ophthalmology Department Chairs, Vice Chairs of Education, Directors of Medical Student Education, and Residency Program Directors will be included. Presenters representing different regions across the U.S. will offer tips related to ophthalmology applications, personal statements, research & extracurriculars, interviewing, preference signaling, away rotations, non-traditional applicants, and new features of the match. Participant questions will be answered based on the most current data available.
