Glaucoma Specialist

Denver Health Medical Center/University of Colorado

The Ophthalmology Division at Denver Health, the safety net hospital associated with the University of Colorado, is seeking a board certified or board eligible Glaucoma Specialist to join our expanding, vibrant team of ophthalmologists and optometrists. As Colorado’s primary safety-net institution, Denver Health serves as a model for other safety net institutions across the nation. This is an ideal position for an individual who enjoys working with a diverse patient population and is committed to the care of underserved and marginalized patients. The candidate will be dedicated to performance standards that result in the highest quality patient care and clinical/surgical standards while advancing the Denver Health culture of excellence. Denver Health serves as one of the graduate medical education sites for the University of Colorado, of which the ophthalmology residents spend approximately a quarter of their residency at this site. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching ophthalmology residents and fellows, both in the clinic setting and in the operating room. The candidate should be comfortable with the management of a broad range of eye conditions, including the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, and be proficient in performing and teaching phacoemulsification cataract surgery. In addition to teaching and supervising residents, this position also offers the opportunity to develop one’s own clinical and surgical practice. This individual will hold a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado and will be given the opportunity to participate in the academic pursuits of the department.
