Glaucoma Specialist

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology seeks a Glaucoma Specialist that has a passion for providing excellent patient care, educating future physicians, and moving medicine forward through continued program enhancement. This role would be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and the candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Qualifications: 

  • MD, MD/PhD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible to obtain a state medical license
  • Board certified /eligible in ophthalmology

At the WVU Eye Institute you will treat a diverse population and have exposure to clinically challenging cases. The WVU Eye Institute houses all subspecialties of ophthalmology as well as an active research program. With ongoing expansion this role offers the opportunity to be busy quickly.

The Eye Institute is the largest comprehensive ophthalmology department in the state.  The nationally recognized Vision Research Center has made profound contributions toward advancing vision science and has collaborative partnerships with other WVU Departments and research institutions to build vision related research. The research program currently is in receipt of seven R01 grants, one COBRE grant, and 16 industry sponsored studies.

The WVU Health System Board of Directors approved funding to construct a new 150,000 square foot facility that will allow the WVU Eye Institute to better meet the needs of patients which will include 102 exam rooms, 44 testing rooms, and surgical suites.
