Ocular Oncologist

The Ohio State University
Havener Eye Institute - Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is expanding and seeks an Ocular Oncology Ophthalmologist with or without additional other subspecialty training for a position as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor.  Position includes busy medical/surgical practice at our main campus faculty and as well as teaching/supervising residents and fellows at our affiliated VA hospitals.  Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology, fellowship trained in ocular oncology, and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Ohio.  Interests should be primarily ocular oncology with other subspecialty interest, preferred but not limited to retina.  Applications from new or established clinician scientists are encouraged.

The OSUCCC – James has more than 200 oncologists, each of whom specializes in just one type of cancer. That expert subspecialization leads to more productive integration with cancer research and, ultimately, to better outcomes. The James manages hundreds of active or pending cancer clinical trials, many of which are initiated by OSUCCC – James investigators. Extensive collaboration opportunities are therefore available. Our genetic- and molecular-based research helps us understand each patient's unique cancer and develop and deliver the most effective targeted therapy that leads to better outcomes, fewer side effects and more hope.

Excellence in Cancer Care

A model of excellence in patient care, the OSUCCC – James has achieved Magnet® designation as part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®. This voluntary hospital recognition program is considered the highest honor an organization can receive for quality patient care and professional nursing practice. The OSUCCC – James is fully accredited by the Joint Commission, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy.
