Optometrist - Contact Lens

The Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI)/University of Oklahoma (OU) is seeking a talented optometrist with training and experience in Contact Lens who would practice in a unique environment offering a robust clinical volume, state-of-the-art facilities, and teaching opportunities. New and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

The Institute provides approximately 200,000 total patient visits annually, completed a $47 million, 78,000-square-foot building expansion in 2011, and further increased the number of clinical lanes by another 25% in August 2018. The Department houses many National Institutes of Health-funded investigators greatly interested in collaboration and translational research (e.g., keratoconus and corneal wound healing). Many of the faculty serve in national leadership positions. Salary support is highly competitive.

Oklahoma City, with a population of approximately 650,000 and a metropolitan area of 1.4 million, is experiencing a major downtown renaissance and enjoys a low cost of living and unemployment rate, lots of sunshine, and numerous cultural and recreational opportunities (including NBA Thunder basketball).

Candidates must have completed a Doctor of Optometry degree and have training (preferably residency training) and experience in Contact Lens and be eligible for licensure in the state of Oklahoma.
