ACGME Ophthalmology Milestones Comments Due Sept 3

A new draft of the ACGME ophthalmology Milestones are available for review. The Milestones reporting data, along with other survey results and comments, informed the changes. The Work Group also created a Supplemental Guide to enhance understanding of the Milestones. Feedback from end users is an important part of the process.

At the 2019 AUPO Annual Meeting Case Western Reserve University, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, was announced as the recipient of the AAO Commitment to Advocacy Award.

One hundred (100) accredited ophthalmology residency training programs across the country responded to AUPO's survey regarding the ACGME's proposal for a mandatory PGY-1; the high response rate signaling the active interest in this resolution. Review Survey Results
Dr. Belin, Chair of the AUPO Fellowship Compliance Committee (AUPO FCC) Board of Managers, has been selected for the 2018 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Secretariat Award. The award recognizes Dr. Belin’s special contributions to the Academy and to ophthalmology, for his help in shepherding the taxonomy codes through the National Uniform Coding Committee. Congratulations Michael!
