The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences is seeking a full-time, board-certified Ophthalmologist with fellowship-training in Cornea and External Disease and Refractive Surgery. The position will include an active clinical practice at the University of Minnesota and possibly one or two satellite facilities.

Candidates must have a MD degree, completion of an Ophthalmology residency and a one-year Cornea and External Disease and Refractive Surgery fellowship, board certification in Ophthalmology, licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota, experience or interest in clinical research and other scholarly activities.

Hire will be at Assistant, Associate or full Professor rank on Clinical Scholar, tenure or non-tenure track depending upon qualifications.

The position will require supervising, mentoring and teaching medical students, residents and fellows along with other curriculum development responsibilities. The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals.

The missions of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences are teaching, research, service and provision of excellent clinical service. Primary academic missions of the department are to teach medical students, post-M.D. trainees (residents and fellows) and students in allied health programs and to advance knowledge in ophthalmology through basic scientific and clinical research endeavors.
