The Vanderbilt Eye Institute (VEI) seeks a fellowship-trained Oculoplastic surgeon to join our dynamic and growing faculty. Our oculoplastics division consists of 3 dedicated specialists who actively fulfill the Eye Institute’s mission of clinical service, education, and research. Our surgeons serve the mid-South region, providing world-class ocular adnexal and orbital care. Our expanding clinical footprint includes the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus and multiple satellite locations. Our educational programs include an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship and 5 ophthalmology residents per year. Research opportunities abound and include clinical case series, randomized clinical trials, and bench-to-bedside projects.

The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is home to a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with more than 60 clinical and research full-time faculty members, state of the art facilities and equipment, and multiple satellite locations to accommodate over 175,000 patient visits annually. We seek faculty candidates who have graduated from an accredited medical school with residency training in ophthalmology and formal fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with demonstrated competency in orbital surgery. Candidates should be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology as well as eligible or fellows of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Clinical responsibilities will include tertiary and quaternary ocular adnexal and orbital care and surgical intervention. Our practice is composed of a dynamic team of comprehensive ophthalmologists, optometrists, subspecialists, technicians, triage nurses and a dedicated nurse coordinator. Faculty participate in both resident and fellow education. The position is open to recent fellowship graduates or experienced physicians with a desire to integrate a patient care practice with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and/or discovery in an academic setting.
