Oculoplastic Surgeon
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for an Oculoplastic Surgeon that will be involved in patient care, teaching, and research. Clinical activities will include patient care at UW Health clinic locations. Teaching activities will involve medical students, residents, fellows, and continuing medical education in the area of oculoplastics. Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and/or translational research.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law, and every four years.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and carry out patient care programs in the diagnosis and treatment of oculofacial and orbital conditions.
2. Provide patient care at the UW Health Clinics, University Station Eye Clinic, Middleton VA, Unity Point Health Meriter Hospital, and clinical outreach site(s).
3. Participate in University-sponsored HMO and Outreach programs.
4. Participate in fellow, resident, and medical student clinical education in the clinic and operating rooms.
Faculty are expected to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. All faculty participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Required Qualifications:
-Eligible for Wisconsin Medical License by start date of position.
-Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology by the start date of the position.
-Residency training in a U.S. Ophthalmology Accredited Program.
-Two-year fellowship training in Oculofacial Surgery is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASOPRS-approved program preferred for fellowship.
Education:
M.D. or D.O. or equivalent required.
