Position Summary: The Department of Ophthalmology at UNC – Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time open rank oculoplastic/orbital surgeon. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
NOTE: FTE is negotiable between 0.5 – 1.0 FTE. Position will also perform work occasionally at the Fayetteville VA.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Candidates for this position should have completed a 12-24 month post-residency fellowship training in oculoplastic/orbital surgery. Requirements include graduation from an approved ophthalmic residency training program and satisfactory completion of a fellowship. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina is required. Excellent training in surgery of the orbit is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: The successful candidate must have excellent clinical & surgical skills, ophthalmic ultrasound experience, and a strong commitment to teaching and demonstrate an ongoing interest in clinical and/or basic science research.
