The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (https://med.uth.edu/ophthalmology/), McGovern Medical School(https://med.uth.edu/), University of Texas Health Science Center Houston(https://www.uth.edu/) is seeking a board-certified or eligible clinician-scientist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology to join our pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus division. Training and/or experience with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a desirable, but not essential. This is a full-time faculty position, with research and teaching opportunities and expectations. This position also has the potential of an accompanying Endowed Chair, to be used for salary and research support. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined in accordance with experience.

Position Key Accountabilities:

This is an academic appointment with research and teaching opportunities and expectations. We are looking for a clinician interested in building a busy practice at our primary location, the Cizik Eye Clinic, located within the Texas Medical Center. Other responsibilities may include resident and/or fellow supervision at our county hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, which is central to and the primary location of our education programs. 

This is an academic track with the potential for tenure. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined in accordance with experience.

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.  A board-certified or eligible clinician-scientist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology.
