Assistant Professor Surgical Retina
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE full-time faculty member in the area of surgical retina. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience. Both clinician-educators and clinician-scientists are welcome to apply. Additional training in uveitis or oncology would be an asset, but not required.
The qualified applicant will be expected to provide outstanding clinical care, participate actively in the residency training program, and perform clinical or basic science research. The School of Medicine has an active compensation plan which includes incentives and bonuses. The School of Medicine is affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical System which includes the University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland Midtown Campus, as well as several others.
The campus is located in the heart of downtown Baltimore, right near Camden Yards and M&T Bank Football Stadium. It is only minutes away from the Inner Harbor, Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium.
