Position title: Ophthalmology Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $500,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Viterbi Family Department of Ophthalmology at UC San Diego (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/ophthalmology/pages/default.aspx) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.

The successful candidates will provide clinical care at multiple sites, teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in our educational programs, and will participate in clinical and/or basic research.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent.

Candidates must be Board eligible or Board certified in Ophthalmology.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with experience in medical and surgical procedures in various Ophthalmology clinical diagnoses and treatment of diseases are preferred.
