AMD Faculty Position

UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health
Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences

The UW-Madison McPherson Eye Research Institute (MERI) and Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences are seeking a tenure-track assistant professor or mid-career associate or full professor with a proven extramural funding history and at least a 50% focus on laboratory-based AMD research.

The MERI recently obtained a $5M permanent endowment that includes a $2M endowed chair that would be provided to the new hire, as well as a $3M endowed research fund for AMD research.  The MERI also has multiple other internal AMD (and non-AMD) research grant programs, and significant start-up funds available. The faculty appointment would be in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, although the lab space (on the top floor of the newest Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research II Building on the medical campus) is in MERI and the hire will have full membership in MERI as well.
