The University Hospitals Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University Hospitals/ Case Western Reserve University brings together world-renowned physicians and leading research scientists to prevent, treat, and cure diseases of the eye- all while training the next generation of ophthalmologists and vision researchers.

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking an academically oriented general/comprehensive surgeon to grow our vibrant 8 member strong team of comprehensive ophthalmologists. Appointment at the level of Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor is available and commensurate with experience. The position entails clinical activity at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and at 2 satellite clinics.

The department supports an 18 resident Ophthalmology training program, as well as fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, and Retina.  The department has a busy clinical research group providing a tremendous infrastructure for clinical research interests as well as a productive and collaborative laboratory science team.

The successful candidate must maintain high clinical and ethical standards that are carried into decision-making processes, adhere to compliance measures, establish and promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between all staff disciplines, and foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction.  Excellent surgical and diagnostic skills are required.  A strong interest in teaching is desirable.

The candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Ophthalmology. The candidate must also possess/maintain a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio.
