The Department of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital is searching for a board-certified or board-eligible comprehensive ophthalmologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.  Individuals must be eligible for licensure in New York. Strong candidates with demonstrated expertise in the management of general ophthalmologic diseases in a highly academic practice, including robust skills in the performance and teaching of cataract and related general ophthalmological surgery, are encouraged to apply. 

The Department has multiple locations and serves a vast population that is renowned for its medical and cultural diversity.  The main facility is located within the Upper East Side Weill Cornell Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital campus and includes an elegant, state-of-the-art 22,000 sq. ft. office suite within the Weill Greenberg Center for Ambulatory Care.  Highly sophisticated ophthalmic operating rooms, inpatient care, and consultative services are adjacent within the campus.  In addition, the Department has offices in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn in association with NY Presbyterian’s Lower Manhattan Hospital and NY Presbyterian’s Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

The candidate will practice in all or several of these locations based on Departmental need.  The department has an ACGME-accredited residency program (4 per year) and multiple subspecialty fellowship programs. The Ophthalmology Department's Dyson Research Laboratory contains an additional 11,000 sq. ft. of bench laboratory space, and the adjacent facilities of New York-Presbyterian and affiliated institutions provide an unmatched opportunity for patient access, research collaborations, facilities, and training.
