The Department of Ophthalmology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal is based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

Responsibilities may include supervising resident clinic, running the consult service, and envisioning an academic career with a focus on resident education. Additional responsibilities may include teaching residents, medical students, and/or fellows. Instructors are provided several educational seminars to prepare them for an academic career.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work closely with the Director and Associate Director of the Ophthalmology Residency program.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates must also be Board Certified/Board eligible in Ophthalmology.

The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Comprehensive Ophthalmology with a focus on Resident Education.
