Open-Rank Clinician-Scientist Faculty Positions

The Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University seeks board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologists and optometrists for full time faculty positions in the University Medical Line and Clinician Educator Line at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

•          The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill

•          The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill

•          The candidate should hold an MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degree including OD, in a related field.

Faculty or academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Vitreoretinal Subspecialty Search: We expect the successful candidate to have successfully completed a clinical/surgical vitreoretinal fellowship, be board-certified, board-eligible, or in the examination process, and have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, clinical teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine.

Pediatrics Subspecialty Search: We expect the successful candidate to have successfully completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship, be board-certified, board-eligible, or in the examination process, and have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, clinical teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine.

Open Subspecialty Search: We expect the successful candidate to have successfully completed fellowship in their subspecialty, be board-certified, board-eligible, or in the examination process, and have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, clinical teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine.
