Hospitalist (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor)

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time hospitalist position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Duties and responsibilities include providing patient care and education in an academic medical setting. Incumbent will be expected to diagnose, treat and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the eye, and associated structures as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye, primarily in the inpatient and outpatient ED settings. The incumbent will work with current faculty to provide a training environment for medical students and residents. Participation in teaching conferences, lectures, grand rounds and other related meetings is essential. 

Salary, rank and tenure status will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of Medicine has an active faculty compensation plan, which includes incentives and bonuses. Employer will assist with relocation costs.

Requirements include completion of an approved ophthalmology residency program. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure in Florida are prerequisites. Must be able to obtain medical staff credentialing with UF Health facilities as well as qualify for enrollment with third party billing entities. Preferred qualifications, in addition to clinical expertise, include a strong commitment to teaching and resident/fellow training. This position has an open recruiting deadline and will close upon selection of an appropriate candidate. The anticipated start date for this position is dependent upon selection of a successful candidate.
