Faculty Neuro Ophthalmologist

West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology seeks a BC/BE Neuro Ophthalmologist (ranks available: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice primarily in Morgantown, WV. 

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Neuro Ophthalmology.  For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program. Responsibilities will include providing excellent patient care as well as teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents and fellows. Knowledge of working with ROP, adult strabismus and a pediatric cataract is important. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research.

At the WVU Eye Institute you will treat a diverse population of pediatric and adult strabismus patients and have exposure to clinically challenging cases. Our state-of-the art facility houses all subspecialties of ophthalmology as well as an active research program. The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical, research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institute will spearhead efforts to develop innovative solutions for West Virginians and those across the world with neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
