The Medical College of Georgia Department of Ophthalmology seeks a full-time faculty member to join our Glaucoma Service at the assistant or associate professor level. Applicants must be board eligible or certified and fellowship trained in glaucoma. Duties will include clinical care of patients, didactic and clinical training of fellows, residents, and medical students, and clinical research. Administrative and leadership opportunities will be available as well. The successful candidate will play an important role in growing the glaucoma service and helping to fulfill the academic and clinical missions of the medical center. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Medical College of Georgia, the academic medical center for the University of Georgia System, is located in Augusta, GA. This classic yet cosmopolitan southern city offers a variety of rich historic, cultural, and culinary experiences with a low cost of living. The Riverwalk, located along the banks of the scenic Savannah River, leads to many of the downtown attractions, including museums, art galleries, and local restaurants. Augusta also encompasses Columbia County the 2nd fastest growing county in Georgia. Augusta is home to the Masters Golf Tournament, the Augusta GreenJackets, the Augusta Ironman 70.3, the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, the Morris Museum of Art, and the Georgia Cyber Center. Atlanta is about 2 hours to the west, and we are but 3 hours from the mountains of North Georgia as well as from the Atlantic coast beaches and cities of Savannah, Hilton Head, and Charleston. Lake Thurmond, one of the largest freshwater lakes east of the Mississippi River, is located a short distance to the north of Augusta, and offers outstanding, year-round recreational opportunities.
