Pediatric Ophthalmology, Division Chief

The Department of Ophthalmology, Columbia University, is seeking an academically established, clinically experienced, and leader in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Associate Professor or Professor level.  This individual will be nominated for the Anne S. Cohen Professorship (endowed chair), with the aim of providing scholarly leadership in this subspecialty.  The Cohen Professorship has an illustrious history with previous occupants being John T. Flynn, MD, Michael Chiang, MD and Steven Brooks, MD.

This new leader will oversee the pediatric ophthalmology service at New York’s #1 Children’s Hospital, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at NewYork-Presbyterian, and within the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He/she will also assume a leadership role in the Jonas Children’s Vision Care Initiative, a multi-faceted program that integrates clinical care, education, clinical genetics, and advocacy, and will sit on the Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Trans-Departmental Children’s Health Council to represent the Department of Ophthalmology in strategic planning.

Candidates should be ABO-certified or eligible graduates who have completed an ACGME-approved residency program, and an AUPO-compliant fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.  A record of scholarly accomplishments should be demonstrated.
