Practice Academic Medicine with Top-Rated Teaching Hospital in the Sun and Recreation Corridor of Arizona at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Center - Tucson (BUMC-T)

The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Arizona-Tucson and Banner University Medical Group (BUMG) is actively seeking an academic Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease. This is an exciting opportunity for a Cornea Specialist to join a growing faculty team actively involved in clinical practice, teaching residents and medical students, and research.

The successful candidate will be responsible for surgical and non-surgical management of corneal and external disease, along with comprehensive eye care. Clinical services are provided at the Alvernon Eye Clinic in Tucson, with on-call and consultative coverage to two Banner-University Medical Center campuses in Tucson. The preferred candidate will also have strong research interests, either in clinical research, basic-science research or both.

The position will have an academic faculty appointment with the University of Arizona-Tucson - College of Medicine at a Rank commensurate with the candidate’s credentials.

Qualifications include:

  • BC or BE by American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Successful completion of a Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease
