Oculoplastic Surgeon

Albany Medical College
Lions Eye Institute

We are currently seeking an outstanding candidate to join our practice and service at Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery in Albany, NY.  The practice has a remarkable patient volume, and we see the full gamut of eyelid, orbital, lacrimal, and facial disorders, including both functional and cosmetic patients.

We believe that this opportunity is truly an exceptional one for a variety of reasons, and the right candidate can clearly flourish in our environment.  Specifically, our practice enjoys the hybrid model, and, while we maintain a private practice, we are also the academic arm of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Lions Eye Institute of Albany Medical College.  Additionally, our practice has an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship.  Finally, we work harmoniously with other services, including dermatology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, skull base surgery, facial plastic surgery, and otolaryngology, and the referral patterns are strong and well-established.  Combined with the clinical volume, these factors provide the perfect setting for oculofacial surgeons with strong academic interests to work in a private practice environment, teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and perform research.

The Capital District of New York is a wonderful place to live and provides an excellent quality of life with four distinct and beautiful seasons.  This area offers a low cost of living, and provides access to exceptional cultural, academic, athletic, and outdoors activities.  Unemployment is low, and the population of the district continues to grow.  Additionally, the region is well-positioned, and New York, Boston, and Montreal are all easy trips from this area.

Given the remarkable clinical and surgical volume of the practice, we are seeking an exceptional candidate with strong interpersonal, clinical, and surgical skills to join our practice.  Please contact Edward “Ted” Wladis at wladise@amc.edu for further information regarding this fantastic opportunity.
