Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Clinician Health Science Track

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking an academically-oriented pediatric ophthalmologist. This is an open-rank, 50-100 % position on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS). This position comprises clinical activity, including surgery, at UW Health sites, including the UW Hospital and Clinics, and the American Family Children’s. The pediatric ophthalmologist in the department is expected to participate in scholarly activity, including clinical research and teaching/mentoring residents, fellows and medical students. This position provides the potential for a leadership role, depending on candidate's interests and expertise. Participation in departmental, School of Medicine and Public Health, and University of Wisconsin committees is required, as is professional, University of Wisconsin, UW Health and community service appropriate to the faculty rank.

Candidates must have an MD degree and be board-certified (or board-eligible if within five years of residency completion) in ophthalmology.

Completion of a one-year clinical fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology is required. Base salary compensation is through the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additional compensation is from the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, the clinical arm of the University of Wisconsin Health system. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2018.
