Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology Services and Kiper and Laura Lee Nelson Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology

The Wake Forest Baptist Eye Center is seeking a Director to help lead our Pediatric Ophthalmology Service.  The ophthalmologist will be responsible for growing the pediatric ophthalmology service line and providing medical and surgical eye care at our main site and outreach locations including:

-Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center

-Brenner Children’s Hospital

-Davie Medical Center

The new faculty member will be contributing to the educational, academic, and research missions of the department.  The successful applicant will be appointed faculty of Wake Forest University School of Medicine. 

Requirements:

The candidate must have completed an accredited residency in Ophthalmology.  Fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus is required.  Candidates must be Board Certified or Eligible in Ophthalmology. They must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina medical license and pass a criminal background check.

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a regional learning health care system that is composed of the Wake Forest School of Medicine and Wake Forest Innovations which promotes the commercialization of research discoveries and operates in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.  The Innovation Quarter is an urban research and business park located in the heart of Winston-Salem which specializes in biotech, materials sciences and IT.  As we like to say this facility is taking research from the bench to the bedside.
