Senior Administrator, Ophthalmology

The Department of Ophthalmology boasts 66 clinical and research faculty, 15 fellows, and 18 residents working at six different sites around Atlanta.
The Clinical Administrator for Ophthalmology is responsible for the department’s clinical and academic business activities and administrative services at the School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare's clinical sites. The administrator has primary responsibility in all areas in which the Chair of Ophthalmology has oversight. The administrator functions as the primary operating and financial administrator of the department, directing these activities and services under the authority and supervision of the department chair and/or the chair's designee(s). Within this context, and in conjunction with the chair and designee(s), the administrator is accountable for successfully developing, promoting, implementing and achieving the department's academic, clinical, administrative and business missions and goals.
At the appointment of the Dean of the School of Medicine, the administrator reports directly to the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and works in concert with the President and Chief Operating Officer of Emory Physician Group Practice and the Executive Associate Dean for Fiscal Affairs & Chief Financial Officer of the School of Medicine. The administrator is evaluated by the Chair of the Department with input from the additional reporting relationships described above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Highly qualified candidates will possess a Master's degree in business, finance, or related science field and seven years of professional business or management experience which includes three years in a clinical or healthcare environment, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Previous supervisory experience required.
