Chief of Ophthalmology
The Department of Surgery at the V.A. Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is soliciting applications for the full-time position of Chief of the Section of Ophthalmology at the VABHS. The Ophthalmology Section is affiliated with Boston University (BU) and Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE) and Harvard Medical School (HMS). Clinics and surgical facilities are located at the Jamaica Plain campus. There is a high volume of patients and recently renovated space with state-of-the-art equipment.
Candidates should be eligible for appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor at Boston University, have an outstanding academic record, and have demonstrated excellence in leading clinical, research, and training programs. U.S. Citizenship, an MD or equivalent degree, an unrestricted license in any state, and Board Certification in Ophthalmology are required. Subspecialty training in any area of ophthalmology is highly desirable.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be considered.
