Job Description
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville seeks to add a full-time Glaucoma Specialist to join our dynamic ophthalmology team. Major responsibilities include providing excellence in patient care, training residents, and, if desired, clinical research contributing to a diverse academic eye practice. The ideal candidate will provide expert medical and surgical management of glaucoma while also contributing to residency training. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative. patient-centered environment with access to advanced technology and a varied patient population.
The Department consists of a small but growing group of talented ophthalmologists and optometrists, who offer a wide array of eye care services to the Jacksonville community. Our specialties include cornea and external disease, glaucoma, anterior segment surgery, diseases of the retina, uveitis, ocular tumors, oculoplastic and orbital surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, contact lenses, low vision and electrophysiology. We are a multi-specialty single location academic practice with a robust clinical volume. The Department has its own ophthalmology-specific surgery center adjacent to its clinical offices. Our residency program has full ACGME accreditation and consists of two residents per year.
