Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
Vanderbilt Eye Institute

The Vanderbilt Eye Institute at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee is actively seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist to join our faculty.  The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with more than 60 clinical and research faculty members, state of the art facilities and equipment and multiple satellite offices to serve an annual patient volume more than 170,000.  We promote a collegial environment and collaborative culture that has enabled unprecedented growth.

We seek faculty candidates who have graduated from an accredited medical school with residency training in ophthalmology.  They should be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  Clinical responsibilities will include primary eye care and surgical intervention, primarily based in a state-of-the-art satellite office in the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville, TN.  The practice is composed of a dynamic team of comprehensive ophthalmologists, optometrists, subspecialists, and technicians.  Faculty participate in both resident and fellow education.  The position is open to new residency graduates or experienced physicians with a desire to integrate a patient care practice with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and/or discovery in an academic setting. Clinical research opportunities are available, and participation is encouraged.
