Ocular Oncology - Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

The Department of Ophthalmology at UC San Diego (https://apptrkr.com/2426832) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department of Ophthalmology, Shiley Eye Institute, and UCSD Vision Research are seeking a physician with expertise in Ocular Oncology to develop and expand the existing oncology service.

Candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD and have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology with specialty training in Ocular Oncology.

Candidates with strong clinical skills, outstanding productivity and interest and expertise in vision research with publications in leading, peer-reviewed scientific journals are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Series will include Ladder Rank, In-Residence with secured extramural funding and Clinical X, HS Clinical and Adjunct.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
