Surgical or Medical Retina Specialist

University of Maryland School of Medicine
Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE full-time faculty member in the area of surgical or medical retina.  The expected rank for this position will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience. Both clinician-educators and clinician-scientists are welcome to apply.  Additional training in uveitis or oncology would be an asset, but not required. The qualified applicant will be expected to provide outstanding clinical care, participate actively in the residency training program, and perform clinical or basic science research.

The campus is located in the heart of downtown Baltimore, right near Camden Yards and M&T Bank Football Stadium. It is only minutes away from the Inner Harbor, Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium. Baltimore offers many outstanding attractions, from fine arts and orchestras to professional sports teams, first-class dining and shopping, and numerous historical sites. Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City are within easy reach, as are beaches to the East and mountains to the West. Educational excellence abounds, as do family-friendly neighborhoods and urban living options.
