The Department of Ophthalmology at UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas is actively recruiting enthusiastic Physician/Scientist candidates. This position will provide cross coverage care in our League City, Texas City and Galveston locations. Care will include examinations, outpatient clinics, and consults and will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the department and Health system level.

The UTMB Health Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) has a long-standing tradition of excellence in research and education. OVS has trained more eye doctors than any other medical school in the region and boasts 34,000 eye patients and 2,600 eye surgeries annually. OVS operates four Eye Centers in the region including League City, Friendswood, Texas City, and Galveston.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with residency training in Ophthalmology.  The candidate must be Certified/Board eligible in Ophthalmology and have a valid unrestricted Texas medical license.
