Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join the Department of Ophthalmology-Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute at CUIMC. The position will include clinical service and teaching at the New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York, as well as at the NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem (Harlem). Responsibilities at CUIMC include participation in the faculty practice of the Department of Ophthalmology, participation in the ophthalmology consultation service, and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.  Responsibilities at Harlem include staffing the ophthalmology clinic, the education and training of Columbia University medical students and residents, and ROP screening in the NICU. Clinical or basic scientific research and collaboration is encouraged. Columbia University and the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute are world-class institutions, and New York City provides a uniquely dynamic, multi-cultural environment for science, the arts, sports, culture, and business. Beaches and mountains are also within a short drive.

The successful candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of the Columbia University Department of Ophthalmology at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute with privileges at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Candidates should be highly motivated and have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research. 

Requirements: Licensed (or eligible) to practice Medicine in New York; Board Certification or Eligibility (ABO); Fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology. Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience.
