The Executive Director, Clinical Operations, provides hands-on leadership and oversight of technical, imaging and administrative operations at BPEI hospital-based eye center (Miami, Plantation and Lennar) assuring the provision of high quality care and excellent service delivery in compliance with regulatory and fiscal standards.

Oversight includes monitoring of patient wait time and total visit duration, technical staff assignment and productivity, inventory management, efficient space utilization and general administration. Establishes and maintains an orderly system of communication, information processing, data retrieval and reporting. Monitors performance measures to evaluate effectiveness of interventions. Collaborates with other peers, providers and/or services to achieve organizational initiatives.

Ensures compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. The Executive Director demonstrates Lean leadership philosophy and structure, and creates value evidenced by improved patient, physician and staff satisfaction at BPEI Eye Centers.

The minimum requirements are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, Master's degree in Business preferred.
  • Six sigma green belt preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years experience as ophthalmic technician or photographer.
  • 10+ years relevant experience, including management.
  • Working knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Facilitation/coaching skills, both with individuals and with teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keeps supervisor/hospital leadership informed of issues that impact clinic operations, potential purchases, vendor communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to further develop professionally and assume increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Outstanding Customer Service skills.
  • Patient Centered Care role model.
  • Leadership behaviors.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.
