The University of Arizona is offering an opportunity for a one-year faculty appointment to a 2019 graduate who is interested in working in an academic institution, and who wishes to apply for fellowship during the 2019-2020 academic year.  While such a position might be called a Chief Residency in other institutions, this position is a faculty position, not a PGY-5 position.  The successful candidate will be Board eligible in ophthalmology, have excellent references, and capable of independent practice and resident supervision.  Approximately half time will be spent supervising the inpatient service and covering weeknight call, and half time will be spent in general ophthalmology clinical activity including cataract surgery.  Time off for interviewing is built into the schedule.
