The University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center provides over 175,000 patient visits per year in 10 different locations in and surrounding scenic and culturally diverse Ann Arbor.  With over 100 clinical and basic science faculty members, 21 residents, and many clinical fellows we endeavor to provide the best eye care available anywhere in the world.  Our purpose is to improve lives through curing, treating, and preventing eye disease.  Our guiding principles are teamwork, caring, integrity, and innovation.  Together, we use our purpose and guiding principles to align ourselves as an organization to achieve our vision of improving lives around the world by enhancing vision in others.  As a USNWR top 10 program we are seeking candidates for the position of Associate Chair – Clinical Affairs and Operations (ACCAO); Service Chief.

The ideal candidate will possess the right combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and personal communication style to strengthen the capability of our workforce while striving to enhance the patient and faculty/staff experience to the highest levels.  The ACCAO serves by providing leadership to the operations team which is composed of a dynamic group of forward-thinking creative individuals who work closely and harmoniously together on a daily basis.  Innovation is a major focus of this team as they hone methods to maximize the patient care experience today while anticipating care delivery models that will be required in the future.  The Service Chief provides faculty development and support and reports to both the Department Chair and the Office of Clinical Affairs.

Interested candidates should be American Board of Ophthalmology certified and fellowship training is desired but not required.  The position can be either on the clinical or instructional track and is full-time with 70% salary support for administrative activities with 30% clinical activity expected.  Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
