Position Title: Academic Glaucoma Specialist

The University of Chicago's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The successful applicant will provide comprehensive glaucoma care and resident cataract surgical education. This may include offsite locations. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in ophthalmology, 4) have completed an ACGME-approved ophthalmology residency or its equivalent, 5) have completed a glaucoma or anterior segment fellowship or have comparable experience, 6) have experience with current glaucoma procedures including MIGS, 7) be willing to provide medical and surgical management of glaucoma, supervise resident cataract surgery education, and provide comprehensive ophthalmology care. Experience with teaching resident cataract surgery, and the ability to begin employment on or before September 1, 2019 are preferred.
