The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is conducting a global search for its next Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the Hamilton Eye Institute. The Department faculty are nationally and internationally renowned board-certified physicians and scientists specializing in the study and treatment of the eye. The Department currently has 22 core faculty, multiple major DOD and NIH research awards, ample renovated and dedicated clinical and research facilities, a robust education mission, and 7 fully funded endowed chairs plus new multi-million dollar endowments to grow research and education.

The successful candidate must have a MD or its equivalent, board-certification in Ophthalmology, eligibility for licensure in TN, and possess the qualifications to be appointed as Professor, tenure track.
