The Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI)/University of Oklahoma (OU) is seeking a talented ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and an interest in engaging in a robust clinical and surgical practice with excellent clinical (and basic) research opportunities, faculty participation in an outstanding residency program, and state-of-the-art facilities, including a DMEI-owned ambulatory surgery center.

The Institute provides nearly 194,000 total patient visits annually and has recently completed a $47 million, 78,000-square-foot building expansion. The Department houses many National Institutes of Health-funded investigators greatly interested in collaboration and translational research. An outstanding Clinical Trials Unit also is available. Many of the faculty serve in national leadership positions. Salary support is highly competitive.

Oklahoma City, with a population of over 600,000 and a metropolitan area of 1.3 million, is experiencing a major downtown renaissance and enjoys a low cost of living and unemployment rate, lots of sunshine, and numerous cultural and recreational opportunities (including NBA Thunder basketball).

Candidates must have completed an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery, be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Oklahoma, and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
